On Jan.17, a Vedic chanting session was held at RainTree Apartments (Venus Colony, Alwarpet), where Sri Sama Veda (Aagneya Parvam, Kouthuma Shakha) and Sri Shukla Yajurveda were chanted by vidyarthis of Attur Chathurveda Patashala (Chengalpet) under the guidance of Brahmashri Kalyanarama Srowthigal and Rajan Aiyer.

From Feb.1 to 6, ADF organised Vedic rituals and parayanams at various sacred sites in Madhya Pradesh – Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple (Ujjain), Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga temple, Maheshwar Ashram, Vinayakar Temple (South Indian Cultural Association School, Indore), Madhya Swaswaminathamalai Mandir (Bhopal).

The Vedic proceedings were led by G. Subramanian, former Chief Manager, Forex Division, Indian Bank.

These events featured Veda Vidvans performing traditional chanting in various locations.

On Nov.18 and 25, Vedaparayanam sessions were conducted in homes at Natco Colony, Kottivakkam, with 10 Veda Vidvans — 4 from Samavedam and 6 from Krishna Yajurvedam.

On Dec.2, the foundation organised Ekadasa Sri Rudra Parayanam and Vedic chanting at ancient temples near Walaja and Arcot, including Kasyabeshwareshwar Temple (Avarakkarai village), Vishwamithreswar Temple (Puliankannu village), Gowhameshwareeswar Temple (Kaarai village) and Sri Valmeekashwareeshwarar Temple (Melvisharam village).

The celebrations concluded on Dec.9 with a grand Chathurvedam Parayanam at a Vedapatasala near Sankara Mutt in Varanasi and Sukla Yajurveda Parayanam at a Veda Vidyalaya in Ayodhya.

As part of the events, advocate Srinivasan (Founder of ADF), distributed essential items, including 5 kgs of rice, groceries and edible oil to temple priests, and dhotis, towels, and fruits to Vedic students at Varanasi and Ayodhya. For more information, contact 95000 43938.

On Oct.29, ADF provided dresses to Samarpana, the home for the mentally challenged, Spastic and differently-abled boys. Suresh Jayaraman (T.Nagar) and Harishankar (California)  distributed the clothes. 

On Oct.28, ADF organised an event of Gau-dan, donating three cows with calves to the Aarupadai Veedu Murugan temple at Keezhpadhi village, near Neyveli. A bhoomi pooja was also performed for constructing a modernised kitchen and a dining hall. Auditor P.Kumar from Mylapore distributed dhoties, towels, sarees and groceries kits to the construction workers and downtrodden village people.

On Oct.30, similar gift hampers were distributed to street vegetable and flower vendors, and sweepers in the Kottivakkam neighbourhood.

Containing 25 items of groceries and 5kg of rice, the kit was distributed at an event held at SriKrishna Mandiram, Canal Road, Thiruvanmiyur, to enable them to perform the Mahalaya pithrupaksha pujanam. 

The function commenced with guruvandanam, Sri Vigneshwara puja and Lagunyasapoorvaga Ekadasa Srirudraparayanam led by Vedic pandit Mani and more than 20 ritwiks. V.Jayaraman – former Chief Manager of Canara Bank was the chief guest and distributed the groceries.

ADF also organised a similar eye camp for the wellness of senior citizens living in Subhadra Old Age Home, Uthandi, ECR, on Feb.26.

All the senior citizens living in both homes were present, besides a large number of neighbourhood fishermen community living on the Uthandi beach. In all, 182 people benefited from the camps. Forty-two people were found affected by cataract issues and 26 patients who were ready for eye surgeries were taken to the base hospital for free cataract surgery. On Jan.16, ADF celebrated Mattu-Pongal at the institute. The event commenced with the Vigneshwara Pooja and special pooja to all the cows, followed by Vedic chanting by learned Rithwiks. 

On behalf of the foundation, a cheque was presented to the institute for providing cattle and hay of 1.5 tonnes. Mr.Shankar, the Manager received the cheque on behalf of the Animal Welfare Trust. ADF, further, distributed readymade dresses and the Pongal gift kit containing essentials, to all the gau-sevaks.

On Jan.3, as a New Year gift, S.Srinivasan, Advocate, Madras High Court presented the cheque on behalf of the Foundation, which was received by Dr Nivean – Academic Director and Chief Retina Surgeon, of the hospital.

Dr Pratheeba Devi Nivean – Director, was also present on the occasion. Incidentally ADF, with the support of MN Eye Hospital has crossed the milestone of organising the maximum number of eye camps and awareness sessions for school children during the calendar year 2023-24, says Srinivasan.

V.K Kalyana Sundari of Thiruvanmiyur (standing – right most) won the second prize at a letter-writing competition held by the Senior Citizens Support Forum, recently. The subject of the letter was, ‘Your Experience and Feelings.’

Dr.S.Srividhya was, on Nov.5, awarded the Best Debater Award 2023, from the Life Literary Association Singapore. The event also celebrated the 6th anniversary of Dr. Avvai.N.Arul, Director of the Tamil Development Department Tamilnadu Government and was conducted by writer l. Krishnamurthy , Singapore.

Sastri Nagar based resident Dr V.R.Devika was presented with the Laadli South Asia Media awards on Dec.12 at NCPA Tata Theatre, for her book on Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy. The Laadli Media Awards are an initiative of Population First, a Mumbai-based social impact organisation supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) that has been working for the past two decades to promote gender sensitivity in media across the country.

In recognition of the tireless services to mankind and the community S.Srinivasan, an advocate and a longtime resident of Kottivakkam, was conferred the Sai Seva Ratna award on Nov.29. Sanjay Baba of Nepal,
presented the award to Srinivasan in an event organised by Shree Sanjay
Sai Seva Organisations International, Chennai Chapter, at Vani Mahal.

R.Sundar, Secretary of Hamsadhwani, was, on Dec.15, honoured with the ‘NVS Endowment’ by the Narada Gana Sabha, as part of their Isai Natya Nataka Vizha 2023. He was presented with the endowment by V.V.Sundar – Co-Founder and Secretary of the Aradhana Committee – Cleveland Thyagara Festival

ADF also arranged a special lunch for all the inmates, besides providing provisions and groceries.

As part of the celebrations, the foundation distributed ready-made garments and dresses to the inmates of Samarpana Home for the Mentally Challenged, Differently-abled and Spastics children. 

Dhoties, towels and sarees were also distributed among the poor people living at Keezhpadhi village near Ramalinga Adikalar temple, Vadalur.
